Last night I attended a weekly poker poker tournament in a local men’s club in which you have to be a member of a relative to enter and play as the takings can escalate to £££££ thousands.

The initial buy in is £20 and its a straight forward Texas Hold-em with re buys and it has a minimum of 18 tables with 9 players on each.  The winner of each  table progresses and it ended up having two tables of 9 playing to make 1 super table of finalists when the numbers dropped.

Unfortunately I went out on the first table I was on and I was gutted. But when you drop out you get to play with all the losers who had no chance in the first place and they play a very simple £10 buy in no re buy Texas hold-em and you can take £90 in matter of half an hour or so.

I left £270 up and destroyed all the non poker playing losers. The funny thing is if I had won the whole main tournament I would have only pocketed just over £200, so I’m planning on this technique in the future.
