Patterns in online gambling have leaned towards bingo and poker throughout the years, but Vernon’s have announced, the latest online gambling “wave” to smash open the UK market is online slot machines. They have also released stats to back this up and prove the trends.

The Vernon’s ‘Clover Rollover’, is pretty much the most used machine they have and they are claiming this is the main reason for the boom. It has a current jackpot of GBP 674 260 which has rolled over for 2 months and every day it increases by 10k so its £300k a month get on there and try and drop it.

Findings have found that over 60% of players are female and all gamblers using the machine are aged between 30 and 55.

It sounds stupid but do you know what is the legal age to gamble online and what happens if your caught gambling underage?

As far as i can tell there is no rule or definition for the actual age to play poker online in hundreds of countries, and this is why lots of countries have banned online gambling but it hurts the rest of the population.

Its strange that even when countries allow online gambling how do you honestly police the age of a player and how do you make people abide by the rules.

To be honest you can choose a number of legal problems with lots of online games. How as a player or a company can you feel legally safe and know that who ever is responsible for enforcing the rules will eventually have to do something and catch up with all the offences that are taking place?

card counting is when you use a particular method to gain the upper hand in a card game. The actual term is used mainly because of the game black jack and it became famous when people were able to work out out the ratio of high cards to low cards in the game. Now it is used in other games like bridge and spades but it will be notoriously be known from blackjack. There are many forms of card counting now but the best example and funny example is the film Rain Man with Tom cruise and his dyslexic brother.

I can guarantee lots of people will assume that the title of this article will lead people to think the famous Phil Hellmuth has added another wsop title to his 11 WSOP titles and 64 cashes but everyone is poorly informed as its another Phil from Madison. Phil Galfond won a massive $817781 and followed in the wake of madison’s famous son also he got a WSOP gold bracelet in the $5,000 match, Pot-Limit Omaha game with re-buys.

Galfond refers to himself as a professional Poker player which targets mainly cash games, but he showed everyone that he has a lot more skill than that, when he got to the final 9. The best bit was on the final table there were a gaggle of past WSOP winners including, Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Daniel Negreanu and John Juanda. The total prize pool for the match ended at $3,085,930 as early losers re bought at $5000 a pop. What makes Galfonds win even better is he beat 152 entrants.

The 2008 WSOP has been a real success so far and the big main event is yet to come and even better not only have the usual suspects won matches but new faces are taking bracelets all over the place. The stars of the future are here.

I have a had 18 people round tonight for an attempted mirror match which went very well until all the low chips stacks started to get knocked out and all of the final 9 were the chip leaders to start with so tomorrow will see a repeat but everyone will have equal chips or smaller buy In’s I’m hoping the later as its fun.

Money makes people argue and with beer involved it makes it worse i wish i had videoed it as it would have made this blog more fun.

Even worse one of the lads turned up in a pair of wellies which made us all roll around and we made innuendos all night.

So bring on tomorrow as I’m loving all the nights that we are having especially as i keep winning.

Anyone else want to play????????????????????????????

Counting cards can confirm — nearly all of the cast of Ocean’s 13 haven’t a clue play poker.

Poker supremo Joe Hachem played against the cast, he had previously won US$7.5 million ($7.9 million) at the WSOP in 2005, But while Matt Damon and Don Cheadle gave as good as they got, George Clooney, Brad Pitt were absolutely rubbish and didn’t win a single hand.

Apparently they walked into the room looking like scared children instead of action heroes.

George and Brad were finding the going tough and tried not to look stupid but it failed.

Even worse James Bond himself Daniel Craig was a complete flop.

It was reported in 2006 that Craig, the poker-loving spy Bond, who appeared in Casino Royale, was a real flop when it came to poker.

Craig’s initial reaction when he was asked to join in was to go white as a sheet.

“He didn’t know how to play. But I don’t blame him” said Hachem.

Even funnier everyone was surprised when non of the stars had cash on them.

As everyone expected, Hachem won — but he donated the winnings.

With last night seeing the last table at the 22nd event of the WSOP housing 4 professionals, there was no safe bet to gamble on to which one would win.

As it turns out an unknown player in relation to professional poker called Jens Voertmann took the bracelet along with $298,253k.

You can see all the results so far here. WSOP Results

I didn’t get round to doing my mirror match as of the other day so I’m going to watch the next couple of matches carefully as we are all getting together over the next few days and we want to try something different and when we do i will post all the results when we do.
