If you are planning a late visit to Vegas for the WSOP you better pack a tent or invent a floating house as reports say that every hotel is booked every flight is taken and there is no chance of anyone giving up there seats.

There were concerns that the wsop 2008 was going to be a no show but no one has told the mass of supporters for the event and its gone into overdrive.

People can not simply wait for the main event to start and I’m feeling the same. I’m guessing a lot of people will not be going to gamble to take in the amazing atmosphere of the best poker event in the world.

There are no official stats into who is going to turn up and how many will enter but everyday the list grows and it will be a bonanza of a year.

I’m saying it will be a new wonder who steals the day.

A joint report undertaken by Jupiter Research & Everest Poker has tossed forward some strange facts about the growth of Poker throughout Europe. Over 3,000 Poker players were quizzed and it turns out that the rise of new players have all been 18-24 years of age in the European bracket compared form the last years survey the stats read 17% 2007, 41% 2008.

There is no proof why there is such a massive increase but most sensible players guesses, will be the emerge of the Internet and the excitement of online poker. Long live the poker revolution.

Even stranger the emerge of poker in Spain has been splashed with women and 44 % of all new players being women in comparison to 2007 where it only stood at 15% throughout the whole country. Italy is close in second place with there stats changing from 19% up to 35% we don’t yet have any up to date stats for the United Kingdom but I’m sure with the tournaments I have played in this year that women’s poker in the UK is definitely on the rise.

The Nordic countries Norway, Finland and Sweden are streaks ahead of Europe with women playing poker and matching the men, play for play, and travelling the world showing there skills.
