Sheldon Adelson, is currently the Chairman and Chief Exec of the Las Vegas Sands Corp, now could become the next owner of the world renown Les Ambassadeurs casino.
According to the press, Adelson is set to buy the casino if the person who runs it now moves on, billionaire Putera Sampoerna from Indonesia, should sell it for $146.5 million.
Last December, Sampoerna had considered a $185.6 million buy out from Mike Ashley, the current man behind Newcastle United Football Club & retail club of Sports, Direct International, but it seem Adelson has pulled out all the stops and threatened legal action due to a verbal contract. Scaring Mike Ashley away.
Sampoerna bought the previous London Clubs International stronghold for $224.7 million in 06 but because of currency ups and downs the Adelson deal is only worth a measily $147 million.
Les Ambassadeurs is very popular in the UK because its known as the 1st casino where Sean Connery playe James Bond in the 60s. Not only that but it housed a great scene with the Beatles in A hard days night.
