The world poker series is nearly here and we are seeing more people wanting to take the challenge, and become the every gamblers dream of being the WSOP Champion. In the past few weeks we have seen thousands of people trying to get entry via the free seat route but i suppose its better than spending £10k!
The guys running the show haven’t a clue how many people will start the tournament but the estimate is around 5000 to 7000 but no one is sure, so how can anyone realistically say that poker is dying off?
It must be tempting when you see live tourneys on TV and hear through poker news of people scooping 8-10-and even 12 million pounds at certain events, so who is your money on this year?
It must be a dream for the nobodies to gamble against the big names and hope of making a name for them selves by knocking them out, even better winning the comp.
Its just a shame I’m not their!!!!!! Grrr.
By the sea towns through out North Wales are facing job losses because arcades are surely going to be closed down after new laws.
The new laws allow giant casinos but in turn hurt the arcade side of things.
Because of the new rules and regs a lot of arcades have been forced to up the competition and its making them face a realistic possibility of closure.
MP David Jones said that certain areas of Wales will struggle now the summer months are hitting us because of the new gambling laws.
Knightley’s Amusement Park, said, its very likely all the smaller family rum businesses will go bump.
The new legislation slaps an extra £2000 on costs for doing exactly the same thing these businesses have always done.
The British government needs to take action now or they are going to not only face a lot of complaints but MORE unemployment.
Is this really how we want to treat these companies who have been part of the uk’s heritage and Britain’s seafronts since the end of time.
Labour have put major gambling in the limelight but abused the smaller safer forms of gambling.
Before the new laws you could gamble for a £500 prize and turn £2 into this.
The new laws now state that only four £500 machines will be allowed with a £1 stake effectively cut the profits in half and by 10 with the amount of machines.
The GC (Gambling Commission) did a study which proved fruit machine play has dropped 14% in the past few months.
