Just thought that I would jot down my recent results from tournaments to see how I am doing

  • 23/12 - Circus Casino Stoke - 3rd - 58 runners - 7/10
  • 25/12 - Harrahs Vegas - 7th - 48 runners - 7/10
  • 25/12 - Planet Hollywood Vegas - 13th - 42 runners - 7/10
  • 26/12 - Venetian Vegas - 11th - 95 runners - 10/10
  • 27/12 - Binions Vegas - 10th - 38 runners - 7/10

Whilst it may look good in terms of average scores, the only money that I won was at the Circus in Stoke and that was only £290. However, its showing that I am doing OKish in my game, but maybe I need to get a little more aggressive on the last 2 tables. I have said in previous posts that I have been card-dead, which is true, but even so, maybe I should start to bluff a little more at this time?

After my disappointment at the Venetian $150 game, i took the rest of the night off and Samantha and me went for a meal instead. The next day, we decided to go downtown Vegas to play the 10am Binions $50 game. We could have played a much better game elsewhere, but as all poker players know, this is the home of poker and the WSOP (until a few years ago), so we thought it necessary. Played probably my best poker of the last year at the Venetian in the 12pm $150 game yesterday only to BUBBLE!

From 90 runners, I finished 11th after getting card-dead on the last 2 tables, which was a huge disappointment for me as I got so close. If I had played badly around then I wouldn’t be so gutted I suppose, but having played really well for 6 hours, to get no cards in the final hour, and not even bluffing hands, well, as you can tell, it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Oh well, on to the next one!

Well, I did it again! For the sixth consecutive game at Harrahs poker room, I made the final - but not the money. I have finished 5,5,6,9,7 and 7 in the games that I have played there - they usually pay up to 4th/6th depending on numbers of starting players. Read the rest of this entry »

I have managed for the first time to take some photos while I am here and Im showing you the best below. Read the rest of this entry »

Well, its nearly 1pm in blighty, but over here its very early and yet I am ready to go and kick some Christmas poker ass! However, even Vegas isnt totally open today I noticed, with the shopping centre closed just down the strip. This means that the casino floors should be full of beautiful young ladies - so not too bad for this poker player. Read the rest of this entry »

Last night, in preparation for my trip to Vegas, I played in a £40 freezeout texas holdem game in Stoke-on-Trent, England. From 50 or so runners as they are called, I managed to make the money in 3rd place for about £290 and also had a 20% stake in the eventual winner, Craig Bickerton aka Chicken Little.

Add the money to my winnings from last week in Manchester 235 casino and I have a nice tasty sum to take to the tables in good old LV over the next week or so.

Im currently sitting in the departure lounge at Manchester airport awaiting my 11am flight to New York and then on to Vegas.  Its only a 7 hour flight followed by another 6 hour flight, but the rewards are great!  I have traveled with American Airlines and Delta previously to Vegas and they are pretty much of the same thing to be honest although Delta staff always seem a little more friendly.
