Aggressive suicide

Should you ever have the pressing urge to commit suicide, you may as well go out with a bang. Make it an aggressive suicide as the events leading up to this sporadic flutter of madness in your mind we clearly unkind to you. So why worry when you won’t be around to suffer the repercussions of your actions post-demise.

Loosing at a game of cards, despite your latest and greatest techniques to cheat, scheme and plot your way to the win-you end up loosing it all. Your house, your car, your wife and kids. The gamblers dream is not all it cracked up to be. When it all boils down you’re going to find in the end a rope is a rope but a gun is a mans best friend. Aggressive suicide it up, aggressive suicide now!

Aggressive suicide now

Go completely bananas, wound yourself in the most expressive and outrageous of ways whilst drawing maximum attention to yourself before you throw the towel in. Aggressive suicide time; Run into a supermarket and attempt to swallow a whole grapefruit. When that fails…… and it will-shoot yourself in the face whilst screaming “Cheadle’s Mint……Aaaaahhhh”.

Counting cards announces free bets

Posted by Alan | Gambling, Las Vegas roadtrips, Vegas News, Vegas information, poker | Friday 26 September 2008 2:00 am

Counting cards can announce that one of the major poker sites out there is doing an amazing offer of sign up and simply receive £600 free to bet with. Betfair is running this offer for a week only and will honour the offer as long as you spend the money in house, any winnings you can acquire you can keep and take home and spend on what you like.

I signed up and gambled all the six hundred in only ten minutes as it wasn’t mine, and ended up winning over £200 which I put into one of my regular accounts and bet quite a bit of it on the football for this weekend. If you also sign up-to William hill you can get £250 but only if its your first time.

There were many more websites with all sorts of offers, I’ve chosen a few from the list based on their requirements and ease of sign-up. I’ve missed some good offers off because they require unique promotional vouchers, which require you to register for several other websites.

Here’s a list of the other offers I found:

  • Will Hill Poker - £250 welcome bonus
  • Betfair Poker - $600 welcome bonus
  • Paddy Power Poker - $600 sign-up offer
  • Paddy Power Poker - $600 welcome bonus
  • Ladbrokes Poker - welcome bonus up to $500
  • Betfred - $600 welcome bonus
  • PartyPoker.com - free $100 welcome bonus
  • 32 Red Poker.com - $35 welcome bonus

Warren Cloud lives on!!

Posted by Alan | Gambling, Las Vegas roadtrips, Vegas News, Vegas information, poker | Saturday 19 July 2008 2:00 am

I have recently talked about the prestigious casino legend Warren Cloud and his untimely death and also mentioned the fact that he had more enemies than most and hence why he had more names than the yellow pages. The great thing is he had so many names he could not be traced around the world and it was even worse for any one trying to track or learn anything about him, the funny thing is even though all this happened he was loved by many. So what happened to his previous career and where is it now.

He had at one time over ten different casinos and they were recouping over 250 million dollars but the casinos and businesses he left behind have all changed vastly with time and 9 of the major money makers having now completely closed but one is still going which is the Silver Sands, which is still thriving.

There was one business which randomly shut in weird circumstances and one was the recognised Real Time Gambling web site who sent mail to people saying that they should close there accounts as its time to go. They had to do this before the 31st of July or lose out. The the whole site just shut without any reason to close at all.

Throughout Warren Clouds whole life he lived a mystery and now he has gone people are still confused, baffled and intrigued into the happenings and history of this so called legend of gambling.

Gambling curbed by Beer and drugs cure!!!

There has been many drugs over the years that help with alcohol and drug abuse but no one could have predicted that it would or could be used to treat addicted gamblers. This has been published in the psychiatry clinical journal this May.

Naltrexone as the drug is called was tested by the uni of Minnesota and it had really positive results when used to try and stop the need to gamble and helped with associated behaviours.

Naltrexone is known in the pharmaceutical industry as Revia & Depade. There is also a slow release version called Vivitrol.

Dr. Jon Grant with many astute members of the uni placed 58 men and women on different levels of the drug whilst giving 20 others a placebo drug.

The results showed that over 40% on the drug who were addicted to gambling were able to stay away from any form of gambling for over a month while only 10% of the placebo people did.

The players in this gamble, were 14 to 59 years old, and they all confessed to gambling for anywhere as an average 20 hours a week.

The only down side from the study were some side effects of nervousness and anxiety.

With the ever approaching 2008 WSOP there are more and more opportunities to grab a last minute seat. Mansion Poker have issued one last tournament to qualify for the prestigious event. There only a few weeks left so join the fun at at the Mansion and enjoy some possible dream Poker.

This latest event is a bonus for everybody, with the Mansion giving more money prizes to the upcoming matches, even with giving another 20 seats to the wsop. Winners all round because of the up and coming event the WSOP.

Now don’t think these packages are cheap they are worth £16k each with the breakdown being £2.5k for travel and expenses and £13.5 covering your seat and everything else I am guessing that the mansion are shelling out around £400k for the exposure of the thing.

Casinos may be hit like uk Bingo halls.

There are many trivial issues being discussed at the moment in relation to casinos and the main one that is dividing opinion of current poker players is whether or not to ban smoking in all casinos across America. The split really is 50-50 but even non smoking traditionalists say that it will stop freedom of expression and change the whole atmosphere of a poker table. The problem is there are thousands of people who personally do not even visit casinos because they do not have smoke free zones.

Now players from both side are very stuck in there ways and not willing to change it seems like many states will be made to change there way and enforce some strange new ideas to many. If we all have to face this possibilities nobody will feel they have won and we will have to do the winning at the tables. I play in the UK and they have coped with this by providing smoking areas and smoking breaks. But I’m guessing the U.S. will be different and there will be law suits everywhere.

The other idea to solve the issue would be to allow smoking and non-smoking casinos, realistically allowing poker players to make there own mind up. The issue here again would be which casinos would be a no smoking casinos and which would stay the same? This again arises the question to be far should they just ban it outright.

Stephen Gilbert & with his MH Investors Gaming company & 1 other have put forward a application to be joint owners of the Valley View Downs current building plan that was going to be cancelled. The $429 million casino plus awesome racetrack is still pushing forward regardless. Gilbert and his partners don’t want full control.

This opens up a clear route for Centaur Gaming own the whole venture even though the $1 billion funds came to light that secured Gilbert his companies is still an option.  The gambling commission have not withdrawn the pledge but there is little chance of them holding Gilbert to his word.

The economy has been blamed for the withdraw but i think why is he still providing funding?

The honest truth is that the risks giving finance and co-owning a casino and racetrack are too high, the money side is a big risk with the economy state. I will be interested to see if Gilbert still goes ahead.

Manchester airport to Vegas with Delta airlines

Posted by jw | Las Vegas roadtrips | Monday 24 December 2007 8:10 am

Im currently sitting in the departure lounge at Manchester airport awaiting my 11am flight to New York and then on to Vegas.  Its only a 7 hour flight followed by another 6 hour flight, but the rewards are great!  I have traveled with American Airlines and Delta previously to Vegas and they are pretty much of the same thing to be honest although Delta staff always seem a little more friendly.

Las Vegas here I come

To start this site off, I am writing an introduction post about my impending trip to Vegas.

On December 24th 2007 I am off on a Delta Airlines trip to Vegas via New York to stay at the grubby but centrally-located Imperial Palace hotel and casino on ‘the strip’. (more…)
