The basics of Blackjack part 2

Posted by Alan | Gambling, blackjack | Tuesday 9 March 2010 9:44 am

The basic aim of the game some suggest is to achieve a result of 21 or as close as, but when you get more familiarised with the game, I play tactically and try and get the dealer to bust instead by not taking cards.

Until you are confident, just keep to hitting hard on cards up to 17 (depending on what the dealer has, I’ll explain more in the next tips post) and hit on soft 18 if the dealer is showing 10, otherwise, stick.

If you are playing online, then it is impossible to card count, so it’s worth taking the risk and not take insurance on your hand.

Top 5 Slot Machine Myths

Posted by Jean-Michel | Gambling | Monday 4 May 2009 9:30 am

Life in general wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t filled with myths, legends – and secrets. While some myths can be very entertaining to some, they can also be rather dangerous to those who are misguided and enslaved by them. But when it comes to slot machines, the following myths can more or less be the busting if any bankroll.

Be sure not to buy into them – not to swear by them.

Myth No. 1: A slot machine that is about to payout can be spotted – On the other hand, a winning slot machine can’t be spotted by the looks of it. Therefore, even a slot machine in a “bank” of slot machines with high-payout percentages will not guarantee a big, massive jackpot.

Myth No. 2: Casinos always place “loose” slot machines in specific places – While there might be some stock in finding “looser” slot machines in high-traffic areas – like near the cashier line, these “loose” slot machines are not always going to be found in the same spots – or in the same “specific” places. Casinos tend to move their slot machines all the time.

Myth No. 3: Determining your odds of winning by counting the number of symbols on a reel – Believe it or not, some slot-machine experts say that you can determine your chances of winning the big jackpot by counting the overall number of symbols and symbol combinations – something like slot-machine-jackpot numerology.

Myth No. 4: Winning the big jackpot by pulling the arm of the slot machine instead of pushing the spin button – As far as the slot machine, or better, the Random Number Generator (RNG) is concerned, both of these “playing options” are signals to start spinning the reels. But they say pulling the machine’s arm is the better option of the two – it will perhaps bring you a massive jackpot – Who knows . . .

Myth No. 5: The longer a slot machine goes without paying, the sooner it will – Well, while it is theoretically possible for a casino to change out the computer chip in a slot machine, this doesn’t happen where casinos are tightly regulated. After all, there’s no magic button that makes a slot machine either “loose” or “tight”.

roulette gambling

Posted by Jean-Michel | Fun gambles, Gambling | Wednesday 1 April 2009 3:34 pm

Recently I have visited a specific casino in Manchester-I’m not going to name it as i’ll probably end up bad mouthing it very soon if my gambling antics continue along their course of action.

On a particular visit I decided to play the roulette table, only on this occasion it happened to be the automated machine which you can actively place bets on using a touch screen monitor.

A strategy which has been around for some time wich i decided to adopt was simply betting on red or black, never both, no numbers or sections of the table for that matter.

So i’ll explain the strategy here that I was using and there are a few things to consider before even attempting this.

COLLATERAL - this is key, I say “cash is king”. Collateral is a particular amount of cash you will need before attempting this strategy of betting. As they say, money makes money. A nice amount to walk in with would be 500 royal foils, queen heads, green queens, quids, whatever you feel like calling it on the day, just make sure you’ve got at least 500 of whichever currency you’ll be using. In my case 500GBP.

HARDENED STEEL PRIVATES - these is also a necessity, if your twig and gigglebrries are made up sponge, then you’re not going to do well, you will end up bottling it and bail with a hole in your bank statement, no food, no petrol to get home, bailiffs waiting for you at home, bailiffs waiting for you in the local chippy, bailiffs waiting patiently in your bathroom and worst of all bailiffs in your secret drawer that you never thought anyone would find. Even your own dad takes a part-time job as a bailiff to get your casino owned gold coins. Nobody wants this, everybody needs genitailia formed from a beautiful amalgamation of Iron, Steel, Old English Oak and diamond tipped for maximum robustness. You’re new weapon in your pants will not shrink but rise to the occaision of betting it all to win big.

Story continues in the next post.

Knowing a Tell (Predicting a Bluff)

Posted by Alan | Gambling | Saturday 14 February 2009 8:46 am

Basically, some people say that Poker is a very stressful game, also stating that it’s a game where a lot of concentration (attention or alertness) is required. If not concentrated, you can quite easily lose and someone gets the cash. But others say that Poker is a game full of “tells”, signs denoting someone’s Body Language.

This “tell” can literally say (or “tell”) a whole lot about someone’s cards during a game of Poker. If someone yawns during a game of Casino Poker, there’s a perfectly logical (and most probably surprising) explanation, meaning or hint behind such an act. If someone itches or scratches, there’s also a perfect hint behind it, it’s a “tell”.

Most Casino Poker gamers are pretty much aware of these “tells” and they are normally quite good at noticing or scanning them within the scope of a Casino Poker gamer. But of course, a “tell” is normally associated with standard Casino Poker, and not with Online Poker. But still, it’s possible. That is, if the (Online) game is via cams.

In other words, it’s possible to notice a “tell” during a game of Online Poker, only if the game features a couple of webcams, more than three or four. Yet, meaning it would need to be one of those Conference Calls or Video Conference Calls. But nonetheless, it’s about knowing the tell, noticing it and (of course!) interpreting it.

Big Plays 4 Big Jackpots (Useful Tips)

Posted by Alan | Gambling | Monday 26 January 2009 8:44 am

Bingo is generally said (or stated) to be a game of both luck and chance. But modern bingo fans (regulars) actually think otherwise. Well, modern bingo fans say that the game is all about making the right choice, or choices. For that matter, there is no doubt you will increase your chances of winning by just being smart, by smart play.

You might be wondering, what does “smart playing” actually mean? Basically, this coined term can mean a lot. But first and foremost, it means what one thing: Playing smart. But in order to play it smart, you must act and think smart. Therefore, by just knowing (and hence using) a couple of useful bingo tips and tricks, you can win. Big.

Winning is not impossible, so just be confident when (or during) a game of bingo. Nowadays, courtesy of Internet and the numberless bingo sites, you can get a lot of bonuses by signing up or creating an account. For that reason, it would be foolish to waste them away just because they are bonuses, and just because they are free.

Instead, you can do something smart with these extra bingo bonuses. For instance, you can use your bonus cash to research all the games (i.e. bingo games) available online. Of course, researching bingo (which means reading bingo articles and related content) will help gain a feel of bingo playing just before ultimately giving it a try.

Towards a Jackpot (Bingo Professionally) Part II

Posted by Alan | Gambling | Thursday 22 January 2009 8:44 am

Wanting to get that Jackpot? Well, perhaps it’s time you start practising hard, which means playing Bingo a bit more regularly. Apart from practising regularly, it’s important that you play Bingo smart and wise. By remembering a couple of useful tips and tricks, you can actually win a Jackpot! Winning it is so not impossible.

Bingo is not just about playing it. It’s more about HOW you play it. If you want to play it proficiently and professionally, you might as well remember (and actually use!) a couple of tips and tricks, mostly as these bits of advice will most certainly help you become a better Bingo player, and perhaps even win the ultimate Jackpot!

Do keep in mind: Never be cheap. Quit or stop buying cheap Bingo cards. If you really want to become a far better Bingo player than you are now, you might as well start investing in it! Buying a Bingo card that’s a bit less cheaper and slightly more expensive can bring you THE Jackpot! Who knows? Perhaps you’re the next winner!

It’s also recommended that you DO NOT buy too many (Casino Bingo) cards, because in the real Casino Bingo game, it will be really hard for you to control them all simultaneously. That is, in other words, it will be pure chaos! For that matter, in the Online Bingo version, it’s recommended not to buy too many cards with small pots.

Reading Other Players (or Detecting a Bluff)

Posted by Alan | Gambling | Saturday 10 January 2009 8:41 am

Other people’s gestures during a game of Casino Poker can by all means say a lot about their hands. Of course, in order to be an excellent (or a good) Poker gamer, you should be able to notice or scan these “tells”, as Poker players call these signs or hints. The better you are at noticing these signs or “tells”, the faster you can win!

Basically, you need to start analysing their attitude during a game of Casino Poker. For that matter, practically everything other gamers or players do whilst playing can hide a meaning (a hint or sign) which can state (i.e. show) quite a lot. Once you are able to “read” other gamers’ thoughts, your chances of winning are a much higher.

Therefore, you might as well start practising. That is, start analysing other people’s gestures and movements during a conversation or a meeting. This will most certainly help you become better at “analysing” someone else’ attitude during a game. Look at it as a bit of practice, just before officially starting to scan or read your fellow gamers.

Last but not least, it’s also important you stay calm and cool during a game of Poker. Regardless of whether your (Poker) hands are pretty good or pretty bad, you should always remain as relaxed and calm as possible. If you show or express your anxiety, fellow players will most certainly notice it. For that very reason, you should stay calm.

Belarus vs England

Posted by Alan | Gambling | Wednesday 15 October 2008 2:00 am

So with England’s fantastic win over poorly rated Kazakhstan is it worth a bet on England to beat Belarus away or am I simply wasting my money again on the ever failing England.

Everytime I dip my hand into my pocket and bet on England they let me down but I’m starting to think Capello might have turned the corner.

I’m going to start by putting a small bet on England to win the first half then if they are winning put a large bet for them to win the second half.

If the bloody team lets me down then I’m never betting on them again and I’m ripping up my England shirt as a reminder.

My back up bet is Germany vs Wales and the home team gets good odds so that’s is where the money is going.

Elliots growth

Posted by Alan | Gambling, poker | Tuesday 14 October 2008 2:00 am

Counting cards can reveal that Christian Elliot has been the biggest climber up the ladder of the world Series of Poker (WSOP) leader board which is used for the main event.

The United Kingdom poker star started the 2nd day at the lofty position of 174th but slowly but surley gathered up pace and managed to get to 6th place at the end of the day.

It was recorded that the second day was a great success and Elliot made the largest jump at Victoria Casino at the centre of London’s Leicester Square.

Elliot did find himself with 231,900 chips which was only 100,000 behind the main player and leader Andy Bloch.

The other usual suspects are Eric Siedel, who was in third place after the epic action and massive jump from Elliot, and Canadian WSOP legend Daniel Negreanu, who is just behind in 9Th which means he went down.

There is 1player who actually has a title which he won at the start of the month is Danish star Theo Jorgensen, who cashed in on the £5,000 Omaha event.

Crazy bets

Posted by Alan | Fun gambles, Gambling | Saturday 11 October 2008 2:00 am

There are a lot of websites out there that will offer crazy odds and strange bets and some of them will accept silly bets if you pester them to accept them.

For instance you can get 100-1 on David Beckham splitting up with Victoria in 2009 and the odds of Jordan aka Katie Price having an affair behind Peter Andres back are 250-1, I cant help but stick the odd pound on these silly bets but if any of them come in I will be flying.

A funnier one is Gordan Ramsey having a celebrity fight for charity or not swearing on TV when it comes to the F word.

The one I’m definitely going to stick a bit of cash on is Kerry Katona having at least one more baby in 2009 as she cant keep her legs shut.

The girl also keeps having a bust up literally with Jordan and as they have no both brought a fragrance out there are odds on who will sell the most at Christmas, my money is on Jordan.
