Tonight I’m hosting a 9 man poker match but it will involve two women who have joined in the poker fun in the past few months and unfortunately they have got the hang of the game quite quickly taking quite a bit of money off the lads so far.

I’m going to stay reasonably sober and try and deliver some of the action as it happens as it was really good fun last time when people had bumper hands or classic moments with big bluffs.

The funniest one was when one of the lads was that confident on a hand he had a flush against one of the girls he bet his clothes on it as well, and cunningly the girl had a higher flush ad took the bet.

He ended up broke and walked home starkers, he only lived round the corner.

Now as everyone knows the iPhone is a massive success and continues to get ever larger it is absolutely no shock to see a gathering of poker applications rising from the loved record breaking phone. So here is whats available.

Some applications that I have tried :-

Apple’s Texas Hold’em

Simply a very basic but really good fun Texas Hold’em game. It has a really nice touch where you can play against full animated characters and if you play enough you can actually learn there traits and pick up bluffs.

Fat-Free Video Poker

This is the replica of the iPhones video poker with graphics that make it look the business and live up to expectations. Gamble up to 5 dollars and see how high you can get the pot if your lucky you might get through to a bonus screen or cash in some funds.

MotionX Poker

This weird as you have to use dice to choose your best poker hand, the only good bit is the dice change 3d images and make it eye pleasingly fun.

With most of the main internationals happening last night its a difficult time to find a good solid bet for a quiet Thursday night so Ive scoured the globe and found three football matches which I think if I use them in an accumulator I think I can make some money.

My plan is to bet on Brazil to win, Argentina to win and Rushden and Diamonds to finish of the rout, now the odds are not that god but when added to the accumulator with a reasonable bid the overall outcome and return is really quite good.

01:50 Brazil vs Bolivia 1.10 7.00 15.00
03:30 Peru vs Argentina 5.00 3.50 1.57
19:45 Lewes vs Rushden & Diamonds 3.60 3.30 1.83

As it turns out my worries about betting on England have been smashed by the youthful lad Theo Walcott who has scored twice for England to calm everyone’s nerves.

As im typing this Wayne rooney has smashed in another goal and now its England 3 Croatia 0, come on the lads.

I have actually been out playing football and put aside watching the beloved England team which normally I make a must, as a few years ago I could almost guarantee a positive result and a stack of cash to go with it when I could normally bet on who would score and how many we would win by, but as most people are aware we have gone to pot.

I might actually put faith in Capello and start betting on England winning again.

There are plenty of rumours circulating the poker world but it will be known soon that a group of poker stars will soon be playing on a reality show with a difference. The show is talked about like its a mix between Jackass and poker.

The idea of a name for the show seems to have settled on is ‘House of Cards’ but that’s not set in stone, and we will view online players playing under the title of Krantz, Flawless_Victory, whiteline and FoxwoodsFiend. The gang of players met up on the net along time ago & have gather speed and rose to the top of the league in the poker industry. The gamblers have done it all by doing everything they can to become number and win lots of cash not to mention mixing it with the rich and famous. We will see how much money means to them on this jackass style show but I’m sure it will be fun.

There will be a release of a 30 min pilot episode to be shown very soon which will wet our appetites and can this push the gambling world further even tough most people are struggling financially.

So tonight will see the biggest match of Andy Murray’s career as he romped home yesterday with a crushing victory over Rafael Nadal 3-1, not only becoming the first Brit to get to the final of the US tennis open for the first time since 1997 when Greg Rusedski lost to pat Rafter but in the process he won me loads of cash as i put a reasonable bet on him.

I don’t think he will beat Federer but I’m going to put my faith in him and put some of the winnings on him.

What do you think?

I’m hoping that when it comes down to it he will keep up his good brilliant vain of form and take the challenge and bring home the goods back to the UK winning me money in the process.

Good luck pal……

The thing is as I cant stop winning at the moment and if this miracle comes off I might even bet on England beating Croatia!!

Well in the end I put a small amount on Andy Murray to beat Rafael Nadal, and so far its going well as he is two sets up to love.

The only problem is the Scot was on fire and taking it to the Spaniard but rain has stopped play and it wont continue until tonight when they resume play.

I really hope Murray has managed to keep the same frame of mind as some of his play was out of this world against the world number 1.

I hope he can keep his concentration and fire it home in to the final and face the Swiss magician Roger Federer.

It would be Murrays first major grand slam final and it would be my first win on a tennis out side gamble.

So fingers crossed.

Today will see Andy Murray take the world number 1 tennis player, Rafael Nadal, in the semi finals of the US open at 18:15pm GMT.

The legend Nadal, has not lost to Andy Murray in his whole career and he seems to have peeked but Murray is simply getting better and with odds of 4/1 I think it is well worth a punt.

Its a difficult decision whether or not to put a large bet on Nadal and win a small amount or put a reasonable bet on Murray and hope and pray that he storms home to a large amount victory.

The only back up I have is a 5 million to one shot on the national lottery which is starting to really piss me off as I’m starting to call it the stupid mans tax as I must have donated well over £500 in  my life time which according to the government goes to good causes but is restoring a forgotten castle in Ireland really that special when that 1.6 million pounds could have cured an illness or saved thousands of lies.

So as myself and all my friends enjoyed the coverage of the WSOP, we have all decided to have our own WSOP match simply with 9 players but the winner will get a mini Gold Bracelet that we bought from a pawn brokers and had engraved.

We are going to make it a monthly session and the entry fee will be £50 and the winner will take home £300 and the runner up £100 the surplus £50 will go in a pot to pay for the equipment and bracelet that we invested in, and at the end of the year we should have a tidy pot to have a bit of a knees up.

The first match will be held this Thursday the 4th of september and monthly from then on.

Im going to try and post updates and winners when and where it happens.

As usual there will be plenty of beer flowing with lots of side bets but im guessing that one of the girls who have been regualry playing with us will make a stir with winning a few of the actual tournaments but we will have to wait and see.
